Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) – Brewing (Intermediate)
Designed to introduce the intermediate into the core skills and equipment required to produce great brewed coffee and understand how to chart different brew styles. Ideally candidates should hold a general understanding of brewing and grinder coffee for all brewing methods.
Intro to Coffee and Brewing Foundation are recommended (but not mandatory) pre-requisite modules.
The course provides you with the key information to enable you to sit your Brewing Intermediate certification that consists of 7 short practical tests and a written exam (25 questions with a pass rate of 70% required).
Successful students will be awarded 10 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Program.
Course Content Includes:
– Elementary aspects of coffee grinding
– Effects of roasting on the coffee bean
– Brewing process
– Brewing Guidelines
– Charting Coffee
(Will issued SCA Certificate if the Exams PASSED)
(Course fee including Exam & Certificate fee)
(Credits for SCA Coffee Skills Program: 10 points)
